APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED! NOW DUE THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2024 AT 11:59PM EST
In honor of our Co-founder, Daven Tackett, this scholarship will be awarded to a innovative JBF Owner who submits an idea they'd like to use to "spark" their JBF business — producing increased revenue, attracting more participants, increasing contributions and donations to their charity partners, etc.
This scholarship is an incubator scholarship for a Franchisee who is either trying a brand new idea or innovating on a current best practice. Innovative ideas may be related to marketing, operations, profitability, customer service, technology, and more.
We award this scholarship to two Franchise Owners each year to "spark" innovation and/or to further develop and document a previously tested innovation for the purpose of sharing with other JBF Owners to grow their businesses!
Franchise Owners must be in Good Standing, which means current on royalty payments and fees, meeting all performance requirements, and compliant with all expectations outlined in the Franchise Agreement and Operations Manual. Application must be completed in full by award due date to be considered. Scholarship Applicants must attend JBFCON the year they apply for the scholarship as well as the following year. Scholarship recipients are required to share the findings from their scholarship with the system, typically during the following JBFCON. There is no limit to how often a Franchisee can win a Spark Scholarship. Winner agrees to allow photos of award receipt to be published for promotional purposes and to benefit their territory.
Scholarship recipients are required to share the results of their innovative idea for the benefit of the franchises system. Typically, this will happen during the JBFCON one year after receiving the scholarship. Sharing should include key learnings from trials, documentation of best practices, detailed budget, and overall results for the business.
The Daven Tackett Spark Scholarship is awarded to TWO Franchise Owners each year to “spark” innovation and/or to further develop and document a previously tested innovation for the purpose of sharing with other JBF Owners to grow their businesses.
Use the following prompts to tell us about your innovation. Please include up to 10 images or supporting materials within your application. Email your completed application - as a Google Doc - to Awards@jbfsale.com before the deadline.
To be considered for JBFCON2025, all applications materials must be received via Awards@jbfsale.com no later than 11:59pm EST Thursday, November 30, 2024.
Judging for the Spark Scholarship will be conducted by Daven Tackett, Co-Founder and former JBF Tulsa Owner, one Franchise Advisory Council representative, and one Franchise Support Center Operations Department representative.
